Big MacBook Air or is it a Whopper?

MacBook Air photo by Roger JonesBeautiful design, for 2010’s market. This sums up my feeling. Love it, want one, but damn you Apple, you failed me on my three key user requirements:

1. Play/Burn CD’s to iTunes.
2. Internal optical drive.
3.Two USB plugs at least.

Any sales guy or gadget geek knows where I’m coming from on this last point.

To use the 0.76 inch thick MacBook Air I need my 1.0 inch thick Windows laptop. So being truthful, the user experience thickness is 1.76 inches. I see two patties in that whopper, not one wafer thin mail envelope.

The good news is we don’t feel too bad about the bunch of 24″ Macs we just bought at Saasu.com There is no “I’m missing out” envy present yet. The second someone brings one into work, that will change instantly, they do look great.

I hope market pressure has Apple bring out a two USB port version. This might entice me over the line. They won’t change their position on the internal optical drive and I agree with their direction as much as a I don’t like it. I was hoping to stretch CD/DVD support for a few more years so I don’t feel like the old guys who have vinyl. No offense meant.
